Community Outreach and Social Action
MCUUF has been involved in a variety of social action and community outreach activities over the years. The following represents a sampling of our involvement
Welcoming Congregation
MCUUF has been a Welcoming Congregation since a unanimous congregational vote in 2006, to be a part of this program dedicated to creating congregations that are inclusive towards bisexual, gay, lesbian, and transgender people and being visible advocates for GLBT rights in our larger community. There are several opportunities for members and friends to support this effort such as attending Equality Sabbath Sunday in January and marching in local and regional Gay Pride Parades. Learn more
FISH
The MCUUF has long worked with our local FISH Food Bank, a non-profit, ecumenical organization of volunteers providing food to individuals in need. The food bank provides a nutritionally balanced supply of food. They work hard to ensure each individual receives the necessary food ingredients to make 3 nutritious meals a day for 3 consecutive days.
